Toll House Cookie Bars
1 c. plus 2 tbsp. flour
½ tsp. baking soda
1 stick of softened butter or margarine
6 tbsp. white sugar
6 tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar
½ tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
1 c. chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Grease an 8 in. square pan.
3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the margarine and sugars. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
4. In a small mixing bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. Gradually add to the creamed mixture. Beat. Stir in the chocolate chips.
5. Carefully spread the batter into the pan, using a rubber spatula. DO NOT SCRAPE THE EDGE OF THE PAN!!!!!
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
