PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP SQUARES
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. pumpkin puree
1 pkg. (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 in. pan. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, pie spice ,baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
2. With an electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
3. Beat in the pumpkin. Reduce speed to low.
4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
5. Spread batter evenly in pan. Bake 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan. Cut into squares.
